MPs want to use Legal Aid to Fight Charges

In another example of their troughing ways, the 3 MPs who have been charged are now wanting to use Legal Aid to fund their fight in court. According to this article it will cost us, yes that’s you and me £3 million. As if they hadn’t had enough of our money!

UPDATE:
I thought it would be a good idea to post the following information taken from here.

Elliot Morley and David Chaytor will be represented by Edward Fitzgerald QC, whose previous clients have included Myra Hindley and Jon Venables, one of the killers of James Bulger. Jim Devine will be represented by Julian Knowles, who helped overturn the conviction of Sion Jenkins for the murder of his stepdaughter Billie-Jo Jenkins.

So Mr Morley and Chaytor, you will be included in the list of infamous clients that Mr Fitzgerald has defended. Quite happy about that as you are in the same league as them really.

Lord Hanningfield, whose case will be dealt with at a separate hearing tomorrow, will be represented by Alun Jones QC, whose previous clients include General Augusto Pinochet.

Of course since we are paying for their defence surely we have the right to instruct their counsel? Why not ask Edward, Alun and Julian to get the thieving scum to plead guilty? They are after all going to be in our employ!

Dear Sirs,

Since you will effectively be in our employ (taxpayers) should the 4 accused MPs receive Legal Aid we hereby instruct you to advise them to submit a “Guilty as Charged” plea.

Not only were we paying for their salaries, we were funding their expenses, we lost out when they over claimed, we paid for the parliamentary investigations, paid for the police investigations, we are paying for their trial, and now apparently it seems we’ll be paying for their defence.

Enough is enough! They’ve had enough of the taxpayers hard earned money. Enter a guilty plea now! Or you’re fired!

Cheers

Olly Cromwell
